Dear Friends and Family,
AVON 39 is a challenge, an attitude, and an UNBELIEVABLE weekend. No matter how far we walk, we crush fear, doubt and breast cancer – one persistent step and donation at a time.
Avon 39 will take place in June, the 24th & 25th. I will walk as a 13 year survivor 39 miles in two days and my personal fundraising goal is $11.000.00 to mark my 11th year walking!
January 27, 2004, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It's been my privilege to share this personal journey with you as a survivor but there are so many loved ones we have lost.
Pat, my daughter-in-law Nicole's neighbor, who fought and lost her battle to Stage 4 Metastatic breast cancer, treatable but not curable. Pat would not let her diagnosis keep her down and continued life with a smile. She took part in clinical trials with the hope that it would help others. This is why I walk!
I've shared the story of our guest Mrs Lee. She became family to our Courtyard family during her many trips to Boston for treatments. For Mrs. Lee it would be too late, we lost her in January 2014. This is why I walk!
Your tax-deductible donation will help the Avon Foundation for Women (avonfoundation.org) fund important medical research into the possible causes of and cure for breast cancer, education and early detection programs, and clinical care and support services for women and men with breast cancer in communities here and across the country. Plain and simple, with your donations, this research continues to save a lot of lives.
